Requirements
- Solid portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and user-centered design.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams in an agile environment.
- Familiarity with responsive design, accessibility standards, and token-based design systems.
- Ability to write clear documentation and usage guidelines.
- Experience with design for AI-driven or adaptive systems.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (CSS, HTML) for better collaboration with developers.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the evolution of Microsoft’s design language, components, and patterns for cross-platform experiences.
- Plan, create and maintain reusable components in Figma and document usage guidelines for designers and engineers.
- Apply deep systems thinking to solve complex design challenges and maintain consistency across multiple surfaces and products.
- Conduct usability reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on system components to improve quality and performance.
- Stay on top of the latest systems design trends and best practices, including Figma functionality updates and AI-driven systems thinking.
- Evangelize design system adoption internally and provide guidance to product teams on best practices.
- Partner with engineering and PM teams to ensure design specifications are feasible and implemented with high fidelity.
Other
- 4+ years experience working in product or service design
- 4+ years shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills.
