Uber's Autonomous Mobility and Delivery (AM&D) Design team needs a Senior Product Designer to shape the future of how people and goods move, designing for a new paradigm of transportation powered by autonomy, AI, and robotics. The goal is to define foundational experiences and how humans interact with intelligent systems in complex real-world environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience, with a track record of shipping digital products in fast-paced environments
- Experience building products for mobile apps, tablets, and web interfaces
- Familiarity with designing across physical, digital, and spatial touchpoints, including geospatial or location-based systems
- Strong prototyping and storytelling abilities to bring complex ideas to life
- Proficiency with Figma and related design tools
- Experience collaborating with user researchers, data scientists, and cross-functional technical teams
- Ability to think at both a strategic system level and a tactical interaction level
Responsibilities
- Lead human-centered experience design in a frontier domain
- Shape how people engage with autonomous mobility and delivery, from first interaction to trip completion.
- Define new interactions, flows, and systems where none exist today, while ensuring the experiences are inclusive, trustworthy, and grounded in real human needs.
- Design practical, scalable experiences for today while helping envision the future of autonomy in a multi-modal platform.
- Design across digital, physical, and spatial touchpoints
- Prototype and experiment rapidly
- Use prototyping to test ideas early and often, from low-fidelity flows to high-fidelity motion and service walkthroughs.
Other
- A degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Comfort working in areas with undefined problems, emerging technologies, or rapid iteration cycles
- The work you do here will define the experience of an entirely new mode of movement.
- We are looking for a designer with strong 0-to-1 experience, a passion for human-centered design, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while moving quickly.
- You should be comfortable operating within a large, multi-team organization, collaborating across functions and product surfaces to ensure cohesive, scalable, and well-integrated user experiences.
