Translate business needs and user insights into designs for visualizations that help users understand and troubleshoot their cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- experience building code-based prototypes with D3.js or similar visualization frameworks
- knowledge of advanced design tools (e.g. Figma, or Framer)
- Your portfolio includes a proven track record of designing visualizations for interactive web applications
- You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns
Responsibilities
- Design interactive visualizations shared across multiple Datadog products
- Design exploratory and explanatory visualizations alongside automated insights into infrastructure, security, networking, and other observability data.
- See your design work through from start to finish: gain insights from user research, sketch ideas, build prototypes, and communicate with engineers that build the products and features that make Datadog better
- Become an expert in visualizations and your product area
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built
Other
- You'll be working as a designer on the Dataviz Design Team translating business needs and user insights into designs for visualizations that help users understand and troubleshoot their cloud infrastructure.
- You'll work within the product design team and collaborate with other designers and engineers to build custom, interactive visualizations that are central to Datadog's observability products.
- Work with other product designers, product managers, and engineers, to understand how our customers use visualizations across Datadog and what they need to succeed
- Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the company
- You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions
- You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own
