Popular is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and performance of key payment products that support their local and commerce-focused ecosystem, aiming to drive adoption and growth of use cases like P2P and Bill Pay within Puerto Rico's payment landscape.
Requirements
- Strong technical acumen: ability to put yourself in the shoes of customers, have a grasp of user experience and design with customers, business, and operations teams in mind.
- Robust with numbers, can ground your thinking in analysis, use data / key metrics to identify opportunities, deliver insights, test theories, and make data-driven recommendations to drive revenue growth and improve customer experience.
- Comfortable with complex systems, understanding common software architecture and data integration patterns.
- Know how to analyze and decompose a complex system and communicate that complexity simply and cleanly.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 such as: MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with tools such as: JIRA, Confluence; data visualization and design tools such as: Power BI, among others is desired.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision and roadmap for commerce and local payment use cases (e.g., P2P, Bill Pay).
- Define and translate business needs into platform capabilities, including transaction limits, fraud checks, and directory services.
- Collaborate with technology teams to deliver scalable, secure, payment platforms.
- Collaborate with digital channel teams to ensure intuitive, customer-centric experiences across platforms.
- Translate regulatory requirements into product features and policies.
- Define and maintain risk controls such as dual authorization, transaction limits, and fraud mitigation along with Risk teams in the bank.
- Establish KPIs such as activation rates, STP (straight-through processing), and engagement metrics.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in product management, preferably in commerce and local payments or financial services.

- Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.
