Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) needs to support the CCTS – Operations team in Kennedy Space Center, FL, by performing repairs and modifications on electro-mechanical components, specifically focusing on wire harness routing & repair, installation of ESD components, electrical grounding & testing, and test instrumentation installation.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and procedures
- 5+ years’ experience reading and understanding basic engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience in the use and operation of dimensional measurements equipment
- Previous experience with wire
- Experience conducting wire harness routing & repair, as well as wire harness installation testing to include di-electric withstanding insulation, insulation resistance, and continuity
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- 10+ years’ experience in electro-mechanical assembly and functions
- Experience with instrumentation calibration and use
Responsibilities
- Performs all elements of assembly from detailed work instructions, including reworks and repairs
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft electrical components of moderate difficulty
- Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting user documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals
- Electro-mechanical skills include wire harness routing, wire harness repair, installation of ESD components, electrical bonding, electrical grounding, heater bonding, system testing, and installation of test instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermal couples, resistance temperature devices, and pressure transducers
- Possess general shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, ESD, and contamination control of precision clean systems
- Operates computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems)
- Uses various types of power tools, hand tools, and torque tools

- Performs assigned duties as an individual or as a member of a cross-functional High-Performance Work Team
- Meets customer satisfaction requirements for quality, performance and reliability
- The ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds within an 8-hour shift
- Ability to work any shift, as needed
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
- This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
- This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
