Smyth Industries Engineering Division is searching for a Senior Project Manager with Water Infrastructure Industry experience to help enhance their current team. The role involves managing engineering, manufacturing, and/or construction projects for the water and reclamation industry, assisting clients in developing important projects for water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5 years of Water Infrastructure or related industry experience.
  • 5 years Project Management experience.
  • Arizona Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Civil/Construction Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Water Infrastructure or related industry experience.
  • 10+ years Project Management experience.
  • Water System Planning and Modeling Experience.
  • Experience in Procore and Primavera scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Provides project management on a variety of construction projects simultaneously, from conception through completion, which involves developing project schedules, monitoring project progress and budget, preparing, and maintaining project files, monitoring quality of projects, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Projects include water infrastructure to private and public water utilities and mining clients including water master plans, wells, pipelines, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and water pump stations.
  • Oversees the technical work products of staff and field engineers and others performing technical tasks to support water/reclamation projects.
  • Coordinates with client and project team to develop project proposals/work plans and budgets, including assigning tasks to internal team, tracking required responses, and performing follow-up.
  • Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, reviewing construction and fabrication projects for quality and conformance to plans and specifications, and verifying calculations and placements.
  • Exhibits technical knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of construction related to water and reclamation projects.
  • Works with the Engineering team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.

  • Required to possess a valid driver's license and legally be able to operate a company vehicle.
  • Required to pass a preemployment drug screening.
  • Must be able to physically perform all required duties which may include bending, lifting 50-pound objects, carrying 50-pound items, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, working outdoors most of the time, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
