Albertsons Companies is seeking to ensure that quality, product safety, plant sanitation, customer-specific, and regulatory standards are continuously met to maintain brand confidence within their self-manufacturing department.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in training and implementation of HACCP or FSMA food safety plans, SQF or BRC, vendor qualification, and customer requirement auditing.
  • 3 years experience with USDA ready to eat foods or similar category.
  • Experience in other food categories: beverages, acidified foods, Grade A dairy, ice cream, and baking
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement new tactics and processes to improve quality and food safety.
  • In depth knowledge of food safety, product quality programs, preventive QA/QC methods, GMP's, food allergens, HACCP and manufacturing systems.
  • Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business related applications.
  • Knowledge of Kosher, organic, Halal, gluten free, and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) standards, including: BRC and SQF

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that quality, product safety, plant sanitation, customer-specific, and regulatory standards are continuously met to maintain brand confidence
  • Train and mentor plant personnel in food safety and quality principles, such as: FSMA, cGMPs, SPC, HACCP, and sanitation and monitor compliance through audits and KPI monitoring
  • Document standards, specifications, and procedures, and monitor for compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality problems using root cause analysis tools.
  • Keep all levels of management informed regarding issues associated with product performance, safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure food safety and quality standards are continuously met across the organization
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components including investigation and disposition of nonconforming product.

Other

  • Direct supervision of plant Quality Assurance Managers (several sites) and their teams, including: training, coaching, and development.
  • Must be able to make product acceptance decisions regarding performance and safety and lead market removal actions when necessary
  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the U.S. and up to 60%
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at all levels to solve problems and achieve desired results.
