Fort Sanders Perinatal Center is looking to solve the problem of providing comprehensive high-risk pregnancy services and delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant required
- CPR required
- Ability to perform basic nursing procedures
- Ability to perform venipunctures, blood sugars, and other lab procedures
- Ability to use medical equipment and software
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Responsibilities
- Performs basic nursing procedures such as weighing patients, taking vital signs and listening to fetal heart tones.
- Performs venipunctures, blood sugars, and other lab procedures as indicated.
- Retrieves initial basic evaluation of patient and reports to appropriate practitioner.
- Assists physicians or practitioner with examinations, various OB/GYN procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient's medical records.
- Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when appropriate.
- Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to age-specific needs of the population served.
Other
- One (1) year related experience required, or new graduate with less than (1) year experience
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Must be able to attend meetings as required
