Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances, determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions, and lead teams to support the unit's CORE goals
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean
- Engineering degree (aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, quality) (preferred)
- Understanding of Pratt & Whitney's Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems and experience using CORE tools (preferred)
- Experience with Solumina and SAP software (preferred)
- Demonstrated effective root cause determination skills, Red-X, Fault Tree, etc. (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions; lead and participate in various teams in support of the unit's CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) goals
- Review and approve First Article inspections, Solumina Work Instruction updates, and Process Tryouts; perform product, process and work instruction audits
- Interface with various Engineering, Operations, and Materials groups to resolve technical/quality issues
- Review and implement various internal and regulatory requirement changes; provide technical guidance and training to OEM Parts Inspectors
- Assist with Escape investigations within Business Units
Other
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 5 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management, program/project management, supply chain/logistics or closely related industrial environment OR a Masters' Degree and minimum 3 or more years' experience
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously with ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred)
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements (preferred)
