Johnson & Johnson is seeking to develop the next generation of smarter, less invasive, and more personalized treatments, specifically focusing on cardiovascular solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke. The Sr. R&D Software Engineer will contribute to this by designing and implementing embedded software for class II medical devices.

Requirements

  • Embedded software development
  • Development in C, C++
  • Data acquisition in an embedded environment
  • Quality systems in a regulated industry
  • Version control and issue tracking systems
  • Medical device development, including ISO 62304 preferred
  • Linux use and development experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for a class II medical device
  • Construction and maintenance of software requirements
  • Design and implementation of software interfaces
  • Test case development, unit and integration testing
  • Leading and participating in design reviews, code reviews and system integration activities
  • Develops, tests, deploys, and maintains software and documents issues encountered.
  • Identifies product design features to support scalability, usability, and improved performance.

Other

  • BS degree in software, computer science, electrical engineering or closely related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven execution of formal engineering development processes and compliance to industry standards is required; medical industry experience preferred.
  • Possesses a "team player" attitude, takes pride in their work and has excellent communication skills
  • Operates independently as a self-starter with high attention to detail
