Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in applying Design for Reliability techniques.
  • 6 years of experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience with reliability testing and failure analysis techniques.
  • Experience with data mining, statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab), and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with leveraging AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs) and machine learning concepts for predictive modeling and data analysis.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis methods (e.g., Weibull analysis, ANOVA, DoE).
  • Analyze large datasets from testing and field returns using tools like Python and advanced data mining techniques to identify failure trends and root causes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement Design for Reliability (DfR) strategies throughout the product development life-cycle, providing feedback to design teams.
  • Utilize Physics of Failure (PoF) principles to build reliability models and predict product lifetime under various use conditions.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive reliability test plans.
  • Analyze large datasets from testing and field returns using tools like Python and advanced data mining techniques to identify failure trends and root causes.
  • Leverage AI tools like Gemini and other LLMs to accelerate research, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement corrective actions and drive improvement.

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in hardware engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, people management and problem-solving skills with a proactive, data-driven approach.
  • Present clear and concise reliability reports and risk assessments to leadership.
