General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) needs to apply advanced technologies to solve customer missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between. The Advanced Reliability Engineer will review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.
Requirements
- Fully proficient understanding and ability to apply basic project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
- Fully proficient in the principles and techniques of Reliability Engineering
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed reliability analyses, including Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify potential failure modes and their impacts.
- Analyze field data, test data, and other reliability data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to incorporate reliability principles into product design and development processes, ensuring that reliability is a key consideration from the outset.
- Implement predictive maintenance strategies and tools to monitor the health of systems and components, enabling proactive maintenance and reducing downtime.
- Prepare comprehensive reliability reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product reliability, reducing warranty costs, and improving customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems, manufacturing, quality assurance, and our customers, to ensure reliability goals are met throughout the product lifecycle.

- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
