The Center for RISC at the University of Chicago is seeking Senior Analysts to join their team to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on social problems and work with partners to pilot creative solutions.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization, such as R, Stata, Excel, SQL, Python.
- Web and/or software development experience.
- Product, UX, and/or human-centered design experience.
- Communications and/or media skills, including social media management and graphic design.
- Familiarity with RCT/experimental design and implementation in a social science field.
- Demonstrated aptitude for data and analytics.
- Exceptional record of academic achievement, and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, writing and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Conducts background research, through academic literature reviews, conversations with experts, reading popular media, and data analysis.
- Works with organizational partners to pilot new and unconventional solutions ranging from applying cutting-edge technology to designing incentive structures to changing public opinion.
- Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects.
- Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts.
- Takes responsibility for the following non-laboratory duties: transcribing and coding data; developing data collection instruments; presenting research; and recruiting and scheduling research subjects.
- Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project.
- Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.

- Manages projects related to pressing social issues.
- Identifies constructive approaches and presents findings to colleagues, partners, and funders.
- Leads the planning and execution of our recruiting for new team members.
- Trains, coaches and develops our newest team members.
- Plans and executes events to enhance our team’s morale.
