The American Dental Association (ADA) is seeking a Senior Research & Data Analyst to manage data sources and conduct research initiatives under the direction of the ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) leadership, with a focus on building and updating datasets related to the dental sector.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with coding in SAS or similar programming language, building datasets, merging multiple files in varying formats, and managing and analyzing claims data or similar large datasets.
- Proficiency with SAS or similar statistical programming language.
- Proficiency with MS Office 365.
- Proficiency in other programming languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python.
- Experience with STATA or other software.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Business Objects Data Services or Azure Data Factory.
- Familiarity with online survey tools.
Responsibilities
- Managing a variety of data sources and conducting research initiatives under the direction of ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) leadership.
- Collaborating with HPI researchers on specific data queries.
- Providing periodic updates on key statistics from multiple data sources.
- Contributing to projects such as survey development and research paper writing.
- Building, improving, and updating key US and international datasets related to the dental sector.
- Merging multiple files in varying formats and managing and analyzing claims data or similar large datasets.
- Using SAS or similar statistical programming language for data analysis.
Other
- Bachelor's degree OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, prioritize and present.
- Be a self-starter and results focused.
- Occasional travel to attend conferences and/or to present research once per year for 1-3 nights/trip.
