CompanyCam is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to help tackle everything from huge company initiatives to modest but important bug fixes, from start to finish, and to actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our backend engineering discipline.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
- Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq in a production environment
- Strong understanding of backend fundamentals - building APIs, managing background jobs, and debugging performance or reliability issues in a large, evolving Rails monolith.

Responsibilities
- Implement well-scoped features with clear requirements in Ruby on Rails, Postgres, GraphQL, and REST.
- Address bug fixes and technical debt with a focus on maintainability and performance.
- Contribute to evolving system design by identifying limitations and proposing improvements within your immediate scope.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to internal tooling and processes that enhance developer productivity and system health.
- Engage in team discussions, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers during discovery to assess feasibility and technical trade-offs.
