Workday is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Salesforce & Back-end Integration Engineer to join their technology team, specifically working with the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) product, to build applications that connect with CRM back-end services, ensuring data is secure, performant, and reliable.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a back-end engineer.
- 2+ years of experience with Salesforce development, including Apex and experience with various Salesforce APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming).
- 1 year of Python experience with back-end API development and a strong understanding of API design principles.
- 5 + years Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Proficiency of Apache Kafka and building event-driven systems.
- Proficiency with Redis for caching, session management, or pub/sub messaging.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Responsibilities
- Salesforce Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within Salesforce using Apex, triggers, and Visualforce.
- API Development: Architect and build high-performance back-end APIs using Python to facilitate communication between Salesforce and external systems.
- Performance, Governance & Data Management: Write efficient and scalable code in both Apex and Python, with a deep understanding of Salesforce governor limits.
- Security & Reliability: Implement robust security measures across all APIs and data integrations.
- Operational Excellence & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure the health and performance of all integrations and back-end services.
- Collaboration: Partner with Salesforce Administrators, business analysts, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Ability to spend at least half (50%) of time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners.
