CarMax is seeking a Senior Engineer to develop new digital products and improve the performance of their business by ensuring customers can buy vehicles in a way that is right for them, specifically focusing on enhancing marketing campaigns through Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with a focus on email marketing and automation.
  • Proficiency in AMP Script, HTML/CSS, SQL, SSJS, and JavaScript is essential.
  • Extensive experience in SFMC platform configuration, automation, and journey orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of email deliverability, compliance standards, and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with Litmus or Email on Acid for email testing.
  • Integration experience with Salesforce Core and other platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of SFMC platform end-to-end functionalities, including cloud pages, automation, journeys, and data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement solutions in SFMC using AMP Script, HTML, CSS, SQL, SSJS, and/or JavaScript.
  • Build and manage cloud pages using content blocks and HTML/CSS, including forms, surveys, and dynamic content.
  • Design and execute marketing automation workflows using Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between SFMC and Salesforce Core, as well as other platforms.
  • Implement, customize, and optimize email templates, journeys, automations, and cloud pages to enhance campaign performance.
  • Ensure compliance with email laws and best practices, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other regulations.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
  • Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any U.S. employer on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will be considered for this specific role.
