AbbVie Neuroscience is seeking to identify and validate new targets for the treatment of neurological diseases, specifically focusing on migraine, by integrating computational and experimental approaches using disease tissue datasets.
Requirements
- Proficiency in statistical and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
- Hands-on experience with multi-omics data integration strategies, and/or electronic health records data.
- Experience with cloud computing environments.
- Experience in functional interpretation of -omics data (e.g., RNA-seq, proteomics, genomics) and pathway enrichment.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques (classification, clustering, auto-encoders, reinforcement learning, transfer learning).
- Exposure to in vitro laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in in vitro laboratory techniques, such as cell culture, molecular biology techniques, assay development.
Responsibilities
- Integrate diverse omics data (e.g., gene expression, proteomics, genomics) to infer shared regulatory networks of migraine and pain.
- Utilize and/or develop machine learning methods to assess target prioritization.
- Utilize internal omics data to predict drug responses and optimize treatment outcomes, and perform perturbation analysis
- Establish and develop novel analysis strategies for single-cell RNA-seq, and other OMICS data.
- Leverage single-cell data to identify context-specific regulatory networks associated with disease targets and biomarkers.
- Provide expertise and technical consultation for external collaborations and partnerships with academia and industry.
- Contribute to collaborative projects that address critical gaps in drug response prediction.
Other
- PhD or MS degree in bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, computational biology, genomics, molecular biology, neuroscience, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in relevant research or industry roles is required for applicants with master's degree.
