The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Security team is looking for an experienced manager to manage a team of security engineers focused on driving security maturity for all of ASE.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with 6+ years in a leadership role managing security teams.
- Experience with engineering security solutions, driving security architecture and maintaining long term partnerships with engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), identity & access management, encryption, and container security.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and common security tools (e.g., Snyk, Burp Suite, Nessus, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of security engineers. Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development.
- Drive the design and implementation of secure systems architecture across cloud, infrastructure, and application environments.
- Lead efforts in proactive threat assessments and security issue analysis at ASE scale
- Engineer solutions and processes to allow engineering teams to remediate security issues and integrate security controls
- Develop known-good configurations for operating system images and commonly used applications as well as engineer security sandboxes and default-safe security wrappers
- Serve as a trusted security advisor to engineering, product, and leadership teams.
Other
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering with emphasis in security related fields (or equivalent experience)
- Certs like CISSP, OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, etc. are helpful but not vital.
