Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Python with demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient code
- Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, query optimization, and stored procedure development
- Extensive experience working with relational databases and data warehouses, particularly PostgreSQL and its variants (AWS RDS, Aurora, Redshift, Timescale DB, Enterprise DB, etc.)
- Strong understanding of database design, indexing strategies, and performance optimization techniques
- Proven track record designing and implementing secure RESTful APIs with proper authentication and authorization patterns
- Solid experience with Linux command line administration, particularly RHEL and Rocky Linux distributions
- Experience with advanced deployment strategies including blue/green deployments, canary releases, and feature flag frameworks
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend services and middleware solutions supporting mission-critical applications in secure government environments.
- Architect and implement distributed systems using messaging frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar to enable real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and SQL with focus on security, performance, and reliability.
- Design and implement agentic AI solutions leveraging frameworks such as Agent OS, MCP, LangGraph, and LangChain to create intelligent, autonomous application capabilities.
- Lead implementation of robust authentication and authorization mechanisms and identity management solutions ensuring compliance with security requirements.
- Architect deployment strategies including blue/green deployments, canary releases, and feature flag implementations to enable zero-downtime releases.
- Optimize data pipelines and application performance through efficient SQL query design, data transformation strategies, and integration with PostgreSQL-based databases and data warehouses.

- Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with at least 5 years in backend/middleware development
- Ability to work one day a week on-site in secure government environments required
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
