ForestGEO, an organization led by the Smithsonian, needs to improve the efficiency of data collection and management for its global network of forest research sites. The Senior Software Engineer will accelerate the pace of research for ecologists by developing, testing, and training scientists on the ForestGEO App, a cloud-native web application for recording, validating, and publishing forest census data.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications
- Experience building distributed cloud services using Azure, AWS, GCP, or equivalent
- Experience leading the design and release of a major software feature or product
- Experience with MySQL, TypeScript, NextJS, or equivalent
Responsibilities
- develop, test, and train scientists on the ForestGEO App, a cloud-native web application that enables researchers to record, validate, and publish ForestGEO census data
