Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and improve innovative hardware solutions that power Azure, aiming to enhance the cloud infrastructure's efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 3+ years of industry experience with common ML engineering programming languages and platforms, such as Python, ML Stack, Synapse.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience on working in large scale systems, designing and coding on mission critical scalable distributed systems and running live sites.
- Development of core fundamental global scale data pipeline services.
- Solid data engineering and ML experience with large language models.
- Proven track record of building, deploying, and optimizing large-scale AI/ML models in real-world applications.
- Experience in developing or modifying deep learning algorithms/architectures to improve computational and memory efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and light up innovative hardware solutions that powers Azure
- Conduct A/B analysis, create and validate metrics, develop ML pipeline and modeling algorithm in Information Retrieval and Machine Learning.
- Determines the technique needed and develops analytic models to understand complex business issues and provide data-driven insights by integrating statistical inference, Machine Learning modeling, AI and/or other advanced analytical methods to manage, classify and analyze complex data from a variety of sources.
- Perform data analysis using a variety of analytical tools (Python, KQL, MLStudio, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric etc), and interpret results with actionable recommendations.
- Define & measure the success/impact of requested analytics & reporting features via quantitative measures.
- Lead the development of cutting-edge models based on Hardware Telemetry.
- Leverage and advance Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference, and other techniques to solve complex problems.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
