Microsoft's OneDrive and SharePoint services need to fundamentally change the way millions of people use their devices and interact with their content. The Content Store team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and deliver large-scale, distributed architectures and features for core infrastructure needs, ensuring customer delight and protection.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 3+ years of industry experience in delivering and interacting with REST API’s and web services across multiple systems
- 3+ years of industry experience with coding, debugging, algorithm design and problem-solving skills
- 3+ years of industry experience designing cloud-scale services and server/service management features
- Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components
- Awareness, passion, and experience related to cloud scale distributed design and patterns
- Familiar with secure software design concepts
Responsibilities

- work with a team of engineers, Product Managers, and designers, and work closely with other teams across Microsoft to deliver large scale, distributed architectures, and features to meet OneDrive and SharePoint's core infrastructure needs
- do thorough, data-driven, collaborative design for additions and changes to our product
- write well-structured code and comprehensive tests
- build coverage with metrics and telemetry to ensure we understand exactly what is happening with our services at all times
- deliver features that will support and serve hundreds of millions of customers around the world
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components.
- Ability and eagerness to work across and partner with multiple engineering teams to achieve business goals.
- Able to learn new systems and adapt new methodologies to our service.
