Caterpillar Inc. is looking to solve the business problem of developing and deploying state-of-the-art digital data platforms hosted on AWS by hiring a Senior Software Engineer.
Requirements
- Java 8 or higher and RESTful API development
- Extensive experience within Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
- Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.
Responsibilities
- Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
- Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution
- Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
- Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features
- Mentors and assists software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed
- Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Performs integration testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.

- Typically have 7+ years of software development experience
- Position requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
