Microsoft is looking to solve the problem of empowering engineers to investigate and resolve incidents/performance issues quickly and confidently through Diagnostics Agents like Azure Profiler, Performance Diagnostics and Fleet Diagnostics.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Rust, Python, C.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience designing and implementing diagnostics or performance solutions for large-scale platforms across Windows and Linux.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud service and/or operating system diagnostics/performance concepts.
- 3+ years of technical expertise in design/coding/debugging/testing in Windows/Linux.
- 3+ years experience owning end-to-end product lifecycle from design to implementation to support.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement diagnostics and performance agents for large scale services for both Windows and Linux.
- Integrate AI and machine learning into diagnostic workflows to determine and collect relevant diagnostics, while maintaining a sustainable solution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions that improve system health and performance.
- Lead technical initiatives to advance diagnostics in Azure, driving innovation in performance analysis and diagnostics.
- Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and technical excellence. Design and code review of peer work.
- Analyze complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and best practices to enhance diagnostics capabilities and team productivity.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers
