Microsoft Office 365 is driving company valuation, and OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) are critical services enabling next-generation end-user experiences. The ODSP Core Engineering team needs to develop and maintain services that scale to millions of users and billions of files, requiring deep understanding of design patterns, data structures, and service operations in a hyper-scale environment.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry programming, software development, and/or software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in C-Sharp or C/C++, and strong design, implementation, and debugging skills; knowledge of scripting languages a plus.
- Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components.
- Awareness, passion, and experience related to cloud scale distributed design and patterns.
- Familiar with secure software design concepts.
- Knowledge of Azure services and systems a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components.
Responsibilities
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Analyze, design, and implement improvements to improve performance and security, reduce Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and drive those changes across multiple products.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Good communication skills (both written and oral).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Experience with financial analysis a plus.
