Microsoft Azure is looking to enhance its cloud offerings by improving the agility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of its network connectivity, application load balancing, and security services through continuous innovation in its Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) infrastructure.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, OR Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 2+ years of experience with Linux OS internals, Networking technologies and protocols such as IP, IPv6, TCP/UDP, TLS, HTTP/HTTPS.
- Proficiency in designing network solutions, distributed systems, and large-scale cloud services
- Knowledge of container platforms and networking technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), routing and networking protocols such as IP, IPv6, TCP/UDP, TLS, BGP, and application-level protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, QUIC
- 1+ years experience with Kubernetes and wider Cloud
Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and operating network connectivity, application load balancing, and security services.
- Continuously innovating on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) infrastructure.
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
