First Street aims to connect climate and financial risk by providing property-level climate risk data and financial metrics. The engineering team is tasked with building scalable backend services and infrastructure to support these products and serve millions of users.
Requirements
- Deep experience in backend API development (with knowledge in GraphQL)
- Experience in systems integration
- Experience work with databases, either in Postgres or MySQL, including: debugging, optimizations, and queries
- Experience building and maintaining automated infrastructure
- Experience in an environment that adheres to SOC II and ISO 27001 Compliance Standards
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend API services in Go that scale to millions of users.
- Architect and improve infrastructure to support global product launches.
- Partner with data operations to integrate pipelines into backend systems.
- Work closely with the product team to ensure capabilities match customer requirements
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure and reliability engineering.
- Lead by example—raising the bar on developer experience and team practices.
- Deliver features that empower customers and advance First Street’s mission.
