Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their Technology Enterprise Customer Experience, Remediations & Loudspeaker (TECRL) Team, supporting mission-critical test deliverables. The role aims to define and implement advanced test automation solutions using the Wells Fargo Automation Framework (WAF) to ensure quality practices across distributed data systems, drive shift-left testing, and validate complex data pipelines and services. The integration of generative AI is also a key aspect to enhance test coverage and productivity.
Requirements
- 4+ years in test automation and programming (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript; Selenium, Playwright, Postman)
- 4+ years of experience in designing and developing custom automation frameworks for web and microservices testing.
- 3+ years with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub)
- 2+ years with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- 2+ years with test strategy planning and leadership, Agile methodologies, shift-left.
- Proven expertise in automating web applications using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java (preferred), Python, JavaScript, TestNG, .NET for test automation.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the development and integration of advanced test automation solutions, leveraging the Wells Fargo Automation Framework (WAF)
- Drive shift-left testing strategies, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle
- Partner closely with engineering, data, and business teams to validate complex data pipelines and services
- Build functional, regression and end-to-end automation
- Integrate generative AI capabilities to enhance test coverage, accelerate defect detection, and improve overall engineering productivity
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
