Walmart is looking to solve the problem of reporting discrepancies and recover tens of millions of dollars by rebuilding its audit processes using automation and AI.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, Python, and dbt; experience with EDA, audit-focused data transformations, and maintaining ELT systems with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI/ML techniques and information extraction (OCR, email analytics, Document AI) is a plus.
- Experience with software engineering or related area.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience with implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
Responsibilities
- Explore Walmart’s enterprise data ecosystems to identify opportunities for rebuilding audits.
- Perform research, EDA, and root cause analysis on data discrepancies to improve audit models.
- Transform data from warehouses and lakes into auditable models using SQL, Python, and dbt to surface missed recoveries.
- Lead end-to-end audit implementation—from discovery and requirements to build and support.
- Partner with business SMEs to validate rules, ensuring supplier accountability and accurate billing.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, driving clarity and defining requirements when none exist.
- Skilled communicator who can quickly understand and breakdown complex business problems, collaborating across business, engineering, and audit teams to deliver solutions.
