Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team needs to build and operate datacenters to power Microsoft's cloud business. This involves anticipating and providing capacity for continuous scale, delivering services, applications, and automation for datacenter planning, construction, and operation. The CO+I Engineering team (CO+IE) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to deliver automation capabilities for long-range execution planning, drive workflow improvements, and build solutions for large-scale data center delivery by efficiently managing cost and schedule.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365, PowerApps, PowerAutomate and Dynamics 365 CE apps
- Knowledge of best practices for software engineering, testing, and documentation
- Software development experience in any two of the following areas: Web and API development, UX technologies (Angular, React), Relational Databases, PowerPlatform, Dynamics365
- 5+ years technical experience architecting and building solutions on Azure or comparable cloud platforms
- 5+ years of experience with Data Platform architectures (SQL Relational Databases, Data Warehousing, Big Data architectures)
Responsibilities
- Write high quality, maintainable, reusable code following SOLID principles.
- Collaborate with and demonstrate features developed to stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Resolve complex system integration challenges working with other members of the team and external teams.
- Share learnings and code assets developed with the CO+I engineering team.
- Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seek new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Track record of building collaborative relationships and driving results in cross-functional environments
- Knowledge of Data Center and/or Supply Chain domains
- Experience building solutions on PowerPlatform/Dynamics 365, is strongly preferred
