Microsoft is seeking to drive operational excellence and transformation across the company through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and continuous improvement (CI), and the Central Fraud and Abuse Risk (CFAR) team is looking to deliver resilient AI-first services that set the standard for the industry.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud services.
  • 2+ years of experience with systems design, architecture, and writing unit tests and integration/end to end tests
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS.
  • Experience in container ecosystems, including Kubernetes, docker, service mesh etc.
  • Understanding of code coverage, data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded, asynchronous programming patterns and solving complex problems, inclination for architecting at scale.
  • Proficiency in Agile software delivery utilizing GitHub, Copilot and/or Azure DevOps Service.
  • Deep understanding of LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, and orchestration patterns for autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship scalable, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-native cloud applications and microservices using foundation models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and autonomous agents. Mentor engineers in AI-first development.
  • Architect Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) systems with goal-driven behavior, multi-step reasoning, and tool-use capabilities.
  • Integrate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to expose internal tools and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to Large Language Models (LLMs) via JavaScript Object Notation - Remote Procedure Call (JSON-RPC), enabling seamless agent interaction across platforms like Copilot Studio and Azure Artificial Intelligence Foundry (Azure AI Foundry).
  • Apply Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) for intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems.
  • Build and ship the next generation of highly scalable, cloud-native applications and large-scale distributed microservices while mentoring other team members.
  • Ensure the highest standards of security and quality in all aspects of our work, from design to deployment.
  • Bring software engineering habits and produce high-quality code that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for Continuous Integration (CI).

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
