Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is looking to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture. The Power BI self-service team's mission is to democratize data visualization and analytics, making it accessible and intuitive for everyone, regardless of their experience in data science. Leveraging LLM is a pivotal tool in this mission, and we aim to provide a seamless and engaging user experience across the Power BI Desktop application and powerbi.com. Our goal is to simplify the analytics journey, enabling users to derive insights effortlessly, and to foster an environment where data-driven decision-making becomes second nature to all.
Requirements
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- creating responsive and accessible UI using TypeScript, Angular, RxJs, or equivalent
- backend development experience (designing and working with APIs, databases, etc.)
- Experience with LLMs and AI assisted developer tools

Responsibilities
- Develop amazing end-to-end features across Power BI's web and desktop application
- Solve work on creating next generation AI agents and AI assisted user experiences using LLMs
- Running and maintaining a distributed system for Power BI hiding this complexity behind easy to use and intuitive experiences
- Build and operate distributed services with world-class availability, performance, and scalability
- Deliver modern user interfaces that are performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible
- Deliver world-class user experiences and cloud services at scale to customers in collaboration with sarchitects, UX designers, and product managers
- Lead the design, delivery, rollout of new features with good quality, maintainability, and end to end ownership

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- 1+ year of experience mentoring junior engineers and performing collaborative technical reviews
- Maintain customer focus, considering current and future needs when designing and implementing features.
- Collaborate effectively within the team and with partner teams across Microsoft.
