Microsoft's Ad SDK team aims to solve the technical challenge of enabling seamless integration of advertising solutions into partner applications and platforms by building fast, secure, and developer-friendly SDKs that help partners monetize their products at scale, while pushing the boundaries of ad-serving technology.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Javascript, Typescript, CSS and HTML
- 3+ years experience of writing web applications code for browsers, knowledge of browser rendering pipelines, and performance optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including advanced patterns (e.g., modular architecture, async programming, performance tuning).
- Demonstrated understanding of browser internals (DOM, CSSOM, rendering pipeline, event loop) and ability to optimize for speed and memory.
- Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse) to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for frontend (e.g., Jest, Playwright).
- Knowledge of web standards and APIs, including security, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility best practices.
Responsibilities
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Designs and optimizes SDK components, especially for browsers using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Collaborates with teams around the world to build cross-platform solutions that reach millions of users.
- Work on innovative features, improve the developer experience, and ensure everything meets high standards for security and privacy.

- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans and work items.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
