Oracle is building a premier health data platform with intelligent services, facing technical challenges in achieving orders of magnitude data processing latency improvement, creating comprehensive patient health records at scale, and establishing a massive health data lake for intelligent health services. The platform needs to be highly available, disaster-recoverable, and compliant with global data laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Strong OO design and programming experience in one or more JVM languages
- Experience with distributed systems implementing SaaS/IaaS, data pipelines, data ETL in real-time or batch environments.
- Experience in technologies and design concepts around Big Data processing, Analytics, relational databases, unstructured storage, Hadoop or similar parallel compute technologies, stream processing, etc.
- Familiarity with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development
- 5+ years of experience using an object-oriented programming language
- Experience building services and API endpoints
Responsibilities
- Implement distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.
- Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure.
- Participation in peer/code reviews.
- Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, to production deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance.
- Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high.
- Optimize data processing pipelines for orders of magnitude higher throughput and faster latencies.
- Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software.

- Bachelor's Degree required
- Demonstrated competence in taking ambiguous functional and/or product requirements and partitioning them based on functional alignment.
- Experience with working with technical leadership to translate requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs.
- Experience with all aspects of the development, characterization and deployment of features spanning multiple components.
- Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
