Microsoft Azure needs to increase support to uphold customer promises as it expands its services, certifications, and regions for its global customers, and the Azure Core Trusted Platform team is committed to enabling product teams to deliver capabilities that align with customer commitments and provide transparency.

Requirements

  • 3+ year(s) of experience building solutions in Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments, with a background in Representational State Transfer (RESTful) APIs, services, and cloud development.
  • 1+ year(s) of demonstrated creativity and skills in design, development, and teamwork, while being a collaborative team player who values learning, sharing knowledge, and supporting colleagues.
  • Experience working with Azure Services.
  • 1+ year(s) of demonstrated expertise in developing and managing data pipelines and working with databases such as Structured Query Language (SQL) Database, Azure Data Explorer/Kusto, or MySQL/Postgres.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment, with dependencies on other orgs.
  • Effective communication skills with leadership and developers at all levels, working independently to identify and focus on impactful tasks, and generating innovative ideas to enhance existing solutions.
  • Coding experience in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
  • Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
  • Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  • Solve complex problems that allow for finding areas of efficiency across working with various large data sources, while increasing reliability for existing solutions.

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Ability to work in a complex environment, with dependencies on other orgs
  • Effective communication skills with leadership and developers at all levels
  • Must be able to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
