JERA Americas Inc. is seeking to develop high-performance trading systems, data analytics tools, and platform enhancements to support strategic operations in gas and power markets across the Americas
Requirements
- Proven expertise in languages such as Python, C++, Java, or similar
- Hands-on experience with real-time data processing, APIs, cloud services, and system architecture
- Familiarity with industry-specific trading platforms
- Knowledge of energy market data vendors and real-time market feeds
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of core trading and market data systems tailored for natural gas and power trading activities
- Develop and optimize real-time data feeds, trading APIs, and analytics dashboards to support informed decision-making
- Architect robust, resilient, and secure systems that handle high volumes of market data with minimal latency
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging trading technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting energy markets
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards for data security and handling
- Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

- Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong background in trading systems or financial technology
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor team members
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Deep understanding of natural gas and power markets, including trading mechanisms and regulatory environments
