Microsoft Azure is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help evolve and expand its software platform and infrastructure, which enables internal Microsoft services and external customers to run large-scale, mission-critical cloud applications.
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 1+ years of experience with data structure, and algorithms.
- 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, OR Python
- 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 1+ years of experience with distributed systems, design, and implementation.
- 1+ year(s) of commitment to improving system quality, performance and reliability, and engineering excellence.
- 1+ year(s) of experience with High Performance Supercomputing and Best Practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop solutions that builds and improve cloud services running over distributed system.
- Provide new features for Microsoft Cloud internal infrastructure software.
- Keep infrastructure services running and deliver code updates on a regular cadence to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
- The base pay range for this role in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
