Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing's fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Requirements
- Deep technical understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern engineering practices in a scalable environment
- Demonstrated experience with a highly regulated industry (e.g., Aviation, Defense, Medical Devices)
- Proficiency in C++, or ability to quickly pick up C++ with experience in similar languages like Java, or C
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale, distributed software systems including: asynchronous pipelines, database systems, RPC handlers in collaboration with frontend engineers and backend engineers, in a privacy and security conscious ecosystem.
- Investigate and build software in areas with limited expertise and make an immediate impact.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address urgent production issues, troubleshoot complex problems, and implement long-term solutions.
- Lead the drafting, technical review, and maintenance of essential regulatory compliance documents (e.g., Software Assurance, Development Lifecycle, Safety artifacts) from a deep, technical engineering perspective.
- Partner closely with internal Product, Safety, and Program teams to seamlessly integrate engineering requirements into the overall compliance strategy.
- Contribute to a team culture of support, engagement and quality, ensuring Wing can scale as a business.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical and regulatory information into clear, concise documentation and internal policies
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar degree (or equivalent experience)
