Microsoft's Core AI is looking to redefine how software is built and experienced by building foundational platforms, services, programming models, and developer experiences that power the next generation of applications using Generative AI. The Azure API Management platform aims to shape the future of AI developer and application workloads.
Requirements
- 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 6+ years of experience designing and building distributed systems and cloud-based services
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with generative AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Claude
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with agentic protocols such as MCP or A2A is a plus.
- Experience developing in AI-enhanced environments using tools like GitHub Copilot or similar.
Responsibilities
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Design and deliver the next generation of services, features, and developer tools that shape how Artifical Intelligence applications are built and operated.
- Work across open-source and platform components in multiple programming languages.
- Contribute to large-scale distributed systems and drive initiatives central to Microsoft’s Core AI strategy.

- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
