Microsoft's Azure Dedicated team is looking to expand the capabilities of the Azure cloud and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of integrating AI capabilities into internal and enterprise-grade solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in backend technologies
- Familiarity with applied AI and its unique challenges
- Ability to architect solutions that stand the test of time
- Knowledge of MLOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, retraining pipelines) and familiarity with LLMOps frameworks for managing large language models.
- Expertise in Azure services (AI Foundry, Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, OpenAI) or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, Copilot Studio
- Proficiency in Python plus one or more languages (C-Sharp, Java, Rust)
Responsibilities
- Design, and develop large-scale distributed cloud services and solutions with a focus on high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability.
- Design, implement, and ship AI capabilities end-to-end—from prototype to production—spanning LLM-powered services, retrieval/grounding pipelines, and robust evaluation/observability.
- Lead project development across the organization and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to drive development and release plans.
- Evaluate alternative architectures and technologies that best fit the business requirements and service KPIs.
- Drive and uphold the best practices of modern software engineering through code and design reviews and take effective service decisions based on data and telemetry.
- Understand Microsoft businesses and collaborate with stakeholders towards cohesive, end-to-end experiences for Microsoft customers.
- Embrace a growth mindset and stay up to date with the current and state-of-the-art technologies to improve customer experience and better serve the product’s business needs.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Ability to collaborate in fast-paced environments, adapt to changing priorities, and stay current with emerging technologies
- Knowledge of AI safety, compliance, observability tools (e.g., Azure AI Content Safety), enterprise security standards
- Proven ability to work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to drive development and release plans
