Reddit is seeking a backend software engineer to join their Ads Conversion Signals team to grow the quantity and quality of off-platform conversion signals while prioritizing user privacy. The engineer will help advertisers succeed on Reddit and ensure user privacy is respected, directly impacting the growth and success of Reddit's Ads business.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time backend and data focused software engineering experience in a highly scalable computing environment
- Prior experience in the Ads Conversion Signals or Ads Measurement space, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these areas as well as its downstream impact related to Conversions API.
- Experience in software development, with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies that you lacked prior experience with
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
- Languages: Go, Python
- Frameworks: Thrift, Baseplate, Kafka
- Datastores: Postgres, Cassandra, Druid, Redis, BigQuery
Responsibilities
- Independently identify roadmap opportunities based on your past experience, competitor analysis, as well as customer needs. Drive the evolution of our Conversions API related products that would help improve the quality of our conversion data.
- Lead the development of advertiser facing products along with a group of frontend and backend engineers that would help drive high quality Conversions API adoption.
- Own the infrastructure of Conversions API, its cost and scaling, as well as the cost and scaling of downstream teams that leverages conversions data.
- Be a thought partner of your leadership as well as XFNs during short and long term planning, own the technical vision and strategy of Conversions API.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our stakeholders' needs.
- Take ownership of your work, from concept to delivery, and ensure that your solutions are scalable, reliable, and meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Continuously learn and grow with our team, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.

- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or computer science-related field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, computer science)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders (e.g. other frontend/backend engineers, data scientists, product managers, etc.)
