Discord is looking to enhance its advertising products by creating engaging, user-forward ads and improving the UI/UX and animations on its web and mobile platforms to drive revenue growth and user engagement.
Requirements
- Expertise in React and/or React Native. You have built complex applications in both, and understand their ecosystems/libraries deeply.
- Strong design sensibility. You have an eye for detail and passion for creating visually compelling interfaces
- Performance and accessibility. Extensive knowledge of front-end performance optimizations and web accessibility standards like WCAG. You ensure that your UIs are not only beautiful but also fast and usable for everyone
- 4+ years experience building rich, user-centric applications (web and/or mobile)
- Experience building mobile applications with React Native
- Strong track record of driving measurable impact through experimentation and data driven decision making.
- Contributions to open-source projects
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical leader and domain expert in crafting thoughtful solutions to design problems both independently and in collaboration with dedicated designers.
- Bring interfaces to life with smooth animations and delightful interactions, translating design concepts into pixel-perfect, high-quality code.
- Be a strategic partner with engineering, product, and cross functional leadership in designing, developing, and scaling digital advertising features that drive revenue growth and enhance user engagement.
- Own projects end to end — you’ll be responsible for working with Product and other stakeholders to refine requirements, creating technical designs and specs, implementing changes, and seeing projects through to launch and maintenance.
- Uphold a high product and technical quality bar while quickly launching and iterating on features.
- Introduce coding and operational best practices to the team; always be learning & teaching.
- Providing feedback and guidance on front-end architecture decisions, and championing UI/UX quality.
