The Aerospace Technologies – Applied Research and Technology department, supporting the Avionics Strategic Business Unit, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Autonomy team. This role is focused on researching, maturing, and transitioning technologies for advanced capabilities and operations in commercial and military aviation. The immediate need is to prototype autonomous software solutions for lab and aircraft integration, developing rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts for demonstrations and testing.
Requirements
- Extensive background in Software Engineering
- Experience in requirements definition, design, and decomposition
- Avionics development experience
- Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies
- Proline Fusion or EDU experience
- Aircraft Integration and Test experience
- ROS / ROS 2 experience
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and document new software solutions for Autonomous capabilities
- Integrate, test, and debug software solutions in a Lab and Aircraft environment
- Track, investigate, and report status of development and testing efforts
- Mentor less experienced Engineers in proper software
- Use strong innovation and problem-solving abilities to move projects forward
