Microsoft is looking to solve the problem of providing L7 DDoS protection, HTTP level CDN, Global Load balancing and WAF protection against DoS and other threats to enable customers to maintain high availability and consistency for their workloads on the Intelligent Edge Platform.
Requirements
- Coding experience in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 1+ years proficient programming experience in one of C, RUST, C++, C or Java
- Experience with Open Source technologies
- Cross-platform development experience (Windows/Linux)
- Experience with cloud-based technologies
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable and low latency services
- Experience with application acceleration, service protection, and load management
Responsibilities
- Design and implement globally distributed, scalable and low latency services that offer application acceleration, and service protection to critical crown jewels partners
- Collaborate closely within the team and other product teams at Microsoft to ensure maximizing efficiency and deploying highly instrumented code
- Embrace Open Source (both using and contributing), cross platform (Windows/Linux), and develop across languages (C/C++/C)
- Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI)
- Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook
- Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- Proficient communication and collaboration skills, including cross-group
- Drive for delivering high quality implementations and designs while also working on testing and operational aspects of the service
