Microsoft Azure Storage is looking to scale its Ultra Disk team to provide next-generation block storage platform for demanding cloud storage workloads, aiming to deliver the fastest block storage platform in the cloud using cutting-edge technology.

Requirements

• coding in languages including, but not limited to, C or C++
• experience in data structures and algorithms with experience in testing, debugging, and analytical skills.
• experience with multi-threaded programming.
• Experience in designing and building large scale distributed systems with experiences in cloud backend development and operations, including performance, reliability, resiliency, and scale-out.

Responsibilities

• designing and implementing protocols and features for data durability, availability, scalability, and performance of backend distributed block storage
• innovate with a fast paced highly talented team and have high impact on cloud storage industry
• Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios.
• Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
