GoDaddy is looking to build cutting-edge internal IAM platforms that provide relationship-based access control (ReBAC) across GoDaddy's diverse product portfolio. The company needs to solve complex problems at the intersection of distributed systems, data modeling, and security to impact multiple product lines company-wide and drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and shape the future of authorization at scale.

Requirements

  • Strong backend development in Java (Spring) and Golang.
  • Performance optimization in distributed systems.
  • Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database experience.
  • Technical design documentation (RFCs/ADRs) and architectural leadership.
  • Systems thinking and distributed systems debugging.
  • Identity standards (OAuth, OpenID, Zanzibar-style authorization, ReBAC).
  • Observability, metrics, and incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement major platform capabilities using Java (Spring) and Golang; author ADRs/RFCs and guide technical reviews.
  • Drive performance improvements, establish SLOs, optimize latency for high-volume NoSQL solutions, and lead incident response.
  • Lead integrations with product teams, create technical documentation, and apply modern identity standards (OAuth, OpenID).
  • Mentor team members, reduce operational toil through automation, and establish best practices.
  • Write maintainable code, perform code reviews, and propose innovative solutions.

Other

  • This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home.
  • You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.
  • This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.
  • GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.
