Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem by replacing legacy infrastructure with a cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today's complex, global market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and scaling high-performance services.
  • Experience in Java, C++, or similar languages, coupled with a willingness to master Go, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in architecting and contributing to systems that solve complex business challenges, with a particular focus on scalability, distributed systems, and handling vast data volumes.
  • Capability of participating in system design discussions, explaining trade-offs to both engineers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, fostering collaboration and driving consensus among team members and stakeholders.
  • A strong emphasis on user experience, demonstrated through API design, service functionality, and performance optimization.
  • A solid grasp of design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and a broad understanding of various technology stacks and frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and building of complex features and services, ensuring scalability and reliability across various financial transaction processes.
  • Solve complex, systemic issues that require an innovative approach and a deep understanding of system design and architecture.
  • Actively shaping our engineering culture, refining technical standards, and promoting best practices in system design and software engineering.
  • Collaborate on strategic directions, and ensure that our platform not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our institutional clients.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and the future of financial services technology.
