The company is looking to scale the ThousandEyes platform for the next 10x growth and provide customers end-to-end visibility into infrastructure, applications, networks, the Internet, and everything in between.
Requirements
- Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming languages
- Expert-level understanding of managing datastores like SQL, key-value DBs, elasticsearch, pubsub systems, and blob storage
- Understanding of network protocols
- Experience with enterprise build tools (maven, gradle, etc) and containerization/virtualization for web applications
- Expert-level understanding of JVM based languages such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc
- Knowledge and use of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
- Experience with low-latency distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Build the platform that helps scale the ThousandEyes platform for the next 10x growth
- Contribute to building robust and scalable real-time data platform with high throughput ingress, intelligent and dynamic enrichment, and storage for customers and micro-services that support business workflows
- Provide architectural oversight and review to continually improve customer experiences and ensure services are able to meet their SLA targets
- Build large-scale real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka, Flink, or Spark
- Uplift live operational code past legacy paradigms safely
- Mentor peers and other members of the team in areas of expertise
- Identify and resolve risks in production systems

- 8+ years of software development experience
- Ability to articulate design choices based on an expert understanding of the product, technology, and return on investment
- Able to handle ambiguity, self-direct when needed, scope work accurately, and provide precise estimates for project milestones and completion
- An eye for proactively identifying and resolving risks in production systems, and passion for operational excellence
- Ability to mentor peers and other members of the team in areas of expertise
