Google needs software engineers to develop next-generation technologies, handle information at massive scale, and extend beyond web search, specifically for the Cloud SDK team to work on developer-facing surfaces in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SDKs/Client Libraries, and the gcloud CLI.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with API Design.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and lead execution of a roadmap for Cloud SDK's client libraries for Node.js.
  • Work with the Cloud SDK team and the Cloud product team to design/implement new features to support external developers and Cloud product roadmaps.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
